  • Hi Prakash,

In SharePoint Online, it’s not supported to create managed metadata service by users.

We can only use the default service application displayed in SharePoint admin center.

  • Hi Grace,

Thank You for the response. That means we cannot create multiple Managed metadata service in SharePoint Online.

The issue is my organization (global) consist of multiple small organizations ( LLC) and each small organization needs to have control over their own MMS. We needs to implement multiple MMS or any best way or approach to implement this requirement in SharePoint Online (SPO).

Can you please provide any pointers.

    Thanks,

    Prakash

  • Hi Prakash,

What’s the type of your organization (global)? A tenant, a site collection or a site?

Actually, each site has a term store management setting via Site settings->Site Administration->Term store management. We can manage term store individually for each site.

To manage MMS in the site level, the account needs to be a Term Store Administrator.

    References:

Assign roles and permissions to manage term sets

Open the Term Store management tool

    Best regards,

    Grace Wang
