cannot send email to internal users from BPOS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Here's a short description of my situation:

I got BPOS domain configured as authoritative. I added my own domain and set it as external relay and default domain (with inbound email disabled). I got test user configured at BPOS with address (alternative address is On my mail server (postfix) I configured forwarding rule so mails to are forwarded to
My problem is when I send email from OWA from address to anyone in my domain * my mail server rejects these emails. It's normal and desired behaviour because it protects my users from receiving emails from spamers.
    I use SPF.
I think the only workarounds for this problem are:
    1. Disable SPF (I'd not do it)
    2. Use another domain and direct it's MX records to BPOS server (I'd not do it)
    3. Add BPOS servers' IPs (which are sending/forwarding mail to my to SPF config file but what are these IP addresses?

What's the proper solution to this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

You are right. Since your Postfix server considers these mails to be a SPAM or a SPOOF, it rejects all the mails from outside. Now, you need to configure your postfix such that BPOS FOPE as a trusted server.

If your server does a SPF check and so it is rejects the mail, then you need to modify your spf (Not delete).

    Eg :

    “v=spf1 ~all "

    Refer :

Below are the FOPE IP range. You can add these IP to your local server such that it doesnt rejects mail from these IPs.
