How to disable Audio/Video on Live Meeting for all clients RRS feed

  • Been looking for a way like we have in Communicator to make Live Meeting be screen sharing only and disabling audio/video.  There's no documented end user GPO or reg setting I can find.

    Any ways to turn off Audio / Video via Live Meeting software?

  • What is your  back end. Is it Office Communications Server or Live Meeting Service.

  • Since you mentioned "communicator", I am assuming that you have the OCS infrastructure in place.  You can disable audio and video through the Meeting Policy settings and still allow desktop sharing.  See link for the details:

  • Our back end is the Microsoft Live Meeting Service (formerly MSO, now BPOS).  We'd like to make certain users/groups/sites unable to use Live Meeting Audio/Video when they attend meetings.  This due to privacy laws in some countries (yep) and limited bandwidth in other sites.

    1. Enable below three items in the "Microsoft Office Communicator Feature Policies".

    Disable PC-to-PC Video

    Disable Audio/Video Conferencing

    Disable Data Conferencing.


    2. If you are using "Microsoft Online Services Sign In" client. The "Meet now using Live Meeting Service" will show in the menu when a contact is right clicked in MOC
