Configuring Managed Properties and Refiners at Site Collection Level : Yes/No type field RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have custom column in SharePoint List which is of Yes/No type field. The list is indexed and the property is available in Crawled Properties under Site Settings --> Site collection Administration --> Search Schema.

I tried to map the Crawled Property to RefinableString13 (this is of Text type managedproperty pre created in sharepoint to use at site collection levels). I have waited for almost week and multiple full crawls are completed. Still this property values are not available in Refiners section.

Anyone faced this problem? What else could be done?

    Regards,

  • Hi,

All of a sudden the Yes/No type field refiner is working. But value shown as True/False instead of Yes/No. May the internal value is shown.

but i want to understand what would have made the property values to appear in Refiners ?

  • Hi,

Do other crawl properties map to the RefinableString13 managed property?

Make sure that you have checked “Include content from all crawled properties”.

Please create a custom managed property (searchable, queryable) and map your crawled property to this new managed property. And search via this format “CustomManagedPropertyName:value” to check if your crawled property contains values.

  • The issue solved on its own.

We already had the option "Include content from all crawled properties" selected. But we had the issue.

But all of sudden the refiners started working as expected.

So i am still not clear on what is that unknown fact which made the property to work without any of our interference.
