Remove Orphan Sids from remote computers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I was giving a report of about 200 computers  with the computer names and the  Orphan SIDS found on them. That i need to get removed.  Is there a way to use powershell to do this? I did see a command called Remove-LocalGroupMember is there a way to use that command on these remote computers or another command i can use. Everything that i see online seems to be really old, so i am not sure if these older scripts will still work. I don't even understand how to use these older scripts.

Do you happen to know of something i can look at that would show me how to achieve this?

  • There is no command in PowerShell to do this. If you search for "remove orphaned SIDs" you will find many tools and articles that will either do this or help you understand how to do it. There might be a script in the Gallery so also look there.
