Prevent users from sending bulk email RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I need to prevent a user group from sending bulk email. They need to be able to send email to 5 or so people, but not the whole organisation.

I configured this once many moons ago on an on-prem Exchange 2010 server, but cant find how to do it in Exchange Online. Is it even possible?

    TIA

    Simon

  • Hi Simon,

Try using the Set-Mailbox cmdlet with the -RecipientLimit parameter

  • Hi Shane,

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the link you provided and cant find a -RecipientLimit parameter. I had a go at setting the RecipientLimit but the command was rejected.

    Have I missed something?

    Regards

    Si

  • Hi Simon,

Yes it seems the -RecipientLimits parameter is for on-premise only.  From what I've read, it appears it's not possible to change recipient limit in Exchange Online.

As per the the following link, a transport rule might be the way to go
