  • Hi,

Where do you want to display large images?

If you use a picture library in SharePoint Online, you can modify view on the tab and set it to display images with Thumbnails. The images will be shown reducing width and height while maintaining aspect ratio.

Image renditions are helpful when you upload a large image and allow it to be reused. The image will be cropped and resized into the predefined aspect ratio.

The feature is only supported on publishing site collection. You need to activate publishing features under Site Settings for image renditions to work. Also, the renditions need to be on the SharePoint site before you add the images.

To use image renditions, go to Site Settings of the publishing site collection > Image Renditions under Look and Feel and click “Add new item”.

You can refer to the link below for detailed information.

Speed up page downloads by using SharePoint image renditions.
