Office | Excel | New Feature | Funnel Chart RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Funnel charts show values across multiple stages in a process. For example, you could use a funnel chart to show the number of sales prospects at each stage in a sales pipeline. Typically, the values decrease gradually, allowing the bars to resemble a funnel. The chart facilitates the comparison of business processes, and when the period is long and the links are analyzed, the problem can be visually discovered and explained.

Note: This feature is only available in Excel for Windows if you have Office 2019, or if you have an Office 365 subscription. If you are an Office 365 subscriber, make sure you have the latest version of Office.

    Create a funnel chart:

Select Data, click Insert > Insert Waterfall, Funnel, Stock, Surface or Radar chart > Funnel.

Once the chart has been created you can easily adjust its design. Just click on the chart, then choose from the Design or Format tabs in the Chart Tools ribbon tab.

You can also Right-Click on the chart and select from the menu options there, or double-click the chart to launch the Format Object Task Pane, which will appear on the right-hand side of the Excel window. This will also expose the Map chart specific Series options.
