Configure a Multi-Forest Environment for Hybrid Lync Server 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • The following TechNet article describes configuring a (Office 365) Hybrid environment with a Skype for Business Server 2015 environment deployed in a resource forest: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt603995.aspx

Is this scenario at all possible when running Lync Server 2013 in a resource forest or do we have to upgrade to Skype for Business Server 2015 first.

    Thanks...

    Ronald.

  • Hi Ronald,

Welcome to post in our forum.

You could follow the article in the original post to configure a Multi-Forest Environment for Hybrid Lync Server 2013. The difference between Lync server 2013 and SFB server 2015 is that SFB 2015 enhanced hybrid deployment administration and management capabilities. • Hi Alice,

Thanks for the quick response. So what you're saying that we can indeed build a hybrid Lync Server 2013 environment when running an on-premises Lync 2013 environment in a resource forest.

Another question I am asked by our customer is why we now need to have a two-transitive trust between the account and resource forest as opposed to the one-way trust that is required for just a resource forest deployment of Exchange or Lync?

    Thanks again...

    Best regards,

    Ronald.
