Creating a Draft Appointment or Meeting

    Question

  • Is there a way to create a draft appointment or meeting in Outlook 2010?  we had been using groupWise and when creating a draft message or appointment users were able to a draft in their Drafts folder to later endit.

In using Outlook it appears to save the draft objct on the calendar which is confusing and hard to find when it is time to finish the scheduling process.

  • I did what you said, but the meeting invite draft does not show up under my draft folder.  I have to go searching for it.  How do I get it to go into my draft folder?

When you save the Calendar appointment it puts it in your calendar as normal but does not send it to people you have invited.

When you open it up you still have the option to send people the invitation requestion.

  • None of the other replies actually answers Tony_SDA's question.  It is now 2016 and the problem still exists in Outlook 2013: draft meetings do not show up in the Draft folder.

BTW, how do I mark that the "answer" provided above doesn't answer the question?

  • Hi Everyone,

I came across this same issue. I have a temporary solution but nothing fancy since IT is not my background.

    1. Create your scheduled meeting.

    2. Go to: File -> Info -> Move to Folder -> Draft

    3. Now click "save" (you may need to add the recipient's email again).

Now you should see it in your draft folder. If you scroll down page of the saved scheduled meeting, you will see an image icon, this is your email technically. You can double click on it and it will open up to where you left off. Then from here you can edit/send the email at a later date.

    Hope it helps...
