Unable to see contents of Sharepoint Web folder when accessing from client machines RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can anyone help please!

In Microsoft Windows Explorer When I try to view the contents of a Web folder, I do not see a list of folders and files and their associated URLs. I would like to be able to move, copy, rename, and delete these folders and files just as if they were on a regular file server.

In Microsoft Office From the Open dialog box (File menu, Open command), I am not able to view and open the contents of Web folders. The contents do not appear From the Save As dialog box (File menu, Save As command), for me to be able to save a copy of a file to a Web folder.

When I log on locally to the Sharepoint server, all the web folders are visible and i am able to do all tasks. The problem only happens when i am accessing from Client Machines (Win XP).

    We are using Sharepoint 2001.

  • I doubt if many people still can remember anything about SP 2001 (or care).

It is surely time for you to upgrade away from SP 2001 as there are now two further levels of *back* SharePoint products (plys an additional current product) and you must by now be unable to get any support from Microsoft.

Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters
