Cross Forest Migration and ActiveSync RRS feed

  • Question

  • we are planning a cross-forest migration and have some questions about how activesync will work when the mailbox is migrated to the other (target) forest. We are using native activesync now. No MDM in place. When the mailbox gets migrated, will we need to manually change the mobile devices?

the scenario is that we are using a resource forest for the mailboxs and moving the mailboxes back to the regular user forest. So, the SMTP addresses are going to be identical across both. Essentially a shared smtp address space.

I'm assuming your Client Access Namespace is changing as part of this.  I'm pretty sure you're going to need to recreate the profile on the phone.  Most EAS clients really don't handle that endpoint url changing all that well.
