  • Hi FreeNit,

To get the maximum of ID in the Form Library in a InfoPath form, you could follow the steps below:

    1. Create a blank form in InfoPath Designer, go to DATA tab, click Data Connections->Add->select “Receive data”->Next->select SharePoint library or list->Next->Type the SharePoint site->Next->select the Form library you want to query for max ID->Continue click Next->untick “Automatically retrieve data when form is opened”->Finish.

    2. In the Data Connection wizard, select Submit data->select To a document library or list->Next->select the library and give form name->Next->Finish.

    3. Insert a Text Box in the form named as maxID.

    4. In the DATA tab, click Form Load->click New in the Rules pane->Action->add three actions under “Run these actions” section:

    • Query for data. Select data connection created in the step1.
    • Set a field’s value. Set max ID text box field with the max(ID) function.

    • Submit Data. Select the data connection we created in step2.

Finally, when the form opened, the maxID text box will display the max ID of the Form library.
