  • There could be various reasons why this is happening. The most common ones:

    1. Add-ins or security programs conflicts - disable AVG/Firewall, run Outlook with the command-line "Outlook.exe /safe" to check if it still crashs.

    2. Corrupted email profile - Create a new Outlook profile to test.

    3. Damaged Office programs file - Repair and reinstall Office 2013.

Let me know the result and feel free to post back. Thanks.

  • Same issue.

Regardless of which office application is running, it will crash and create an event with error code 1000.

I was able to open outlook in safe mode.

I'm currently trying a repair and will update with my results.

  • Repaired and rebooted, no success. However as soon as I rebooted I opened event viewer and the snap-on kept crashing. I finally just waited and let it load before navigating and it worked. Noticed that mmc is showing the same 1000 error. Going to do some more searching. Sounds like something beyond office =/
