Exchange 2013 CU upgrade

Question
-
We have 2 sites, 4 CAS servers and 6 MB server at each site. We are preparing to upgrade from CU9 to CU14. We will be upgrading one site at a time, but within the same site, how critical is it to get all the servers done the same night?
If 1/2 the server get upgraded to CU 14, is it acceptable for the rest of them to be running CU9 for a day or two?

Thanks for your information and sorry for later response.
You wouldn't experience any adverse effects on the other two servers in site B, the same as site A.

Since you have redundant CAS & MBX servers on each sites you can plan for the upgrade one by one servers
From Exchange 2013 Microsoft recommends to upgrade the mailbox server first and then the cas server
Upgrade each mailbox server one by one by moving the active copies to the other nodes
THere is a good article from Paul which you can follow http://exchangeserverpro.com/exchange-2013-installing-cumulative-updates/

Hi,
Agree with Sathish. We need to put the servers in maintenance mode before updating each one. Upgrade the MBX servers first:
Please refer to: Script: putting Exchange Server 2013 into Maintenance Mode

Let me see if I can verbalize my question better.
Site A: 4 CAS 6 MB servers
Site B: 4 CAS, 6 MB servers
I will be upgrading Site B first, if I would happen to get 3 or 4 of the mailbox servers upgraded, and los my maintenance window, or need to stop further upgrades for any various (non-exchange related) reason, would we experience adverse effects from running in SiteB with 2 MB servers at CU9 and 4 MB servers at CU14?
Other questions would apply that ti Site level. If I get SiteB completely upgraded to CU14, would there be problems with upgrading SiteA the following weekend, having the two sites on divers CU level for a week?
