Site Usage Report - Not working

  • Apart from the fact that your encolsed jpg seems to be irrelevant to the question (a flashing jpg in presumably Hebrew doesn't help solve anything), there are the standard things to think about.

    But first, which SharePoint product and version are you asking about (and thus which product's usage data)? There's no way we can guess.

    The typical things are whether you have waited 24 hours since setting usage analysis on and whether indeed you *have* put usage analysis on.

    But until we know which product you are asking about, that's about all there is.

  • Sorry, i'm runing Sharepoint Services 3. on Server 2003 Standart R2 with service pack 2.

  • I'm having the same issue.  I followed all the steps on http://technet2.microsoft.com/Office/en-us/library/5233cf43-6a8f-40cb-9014-0724600e7e381033.mspx?mfr=true.  I have verified that the log files are being created.  I've waited a week. 

     

    Sill getting the error.  Any ideas?

  • For me I had to turn on the site feature "Office SharePoint Server Standard Site features" on site level and "Reports" feature on site collection.

    AWU255 and levon7 suggested turning on "Office Sharepoint Server Standard Site features" and "Reports" feature on site collection. The problem is, these options are not available on Sharepoint Services 3.0, atleast not in my deployments.

    I downloaded Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 SP1 and have am testing it in 2 locations. I can't find these options. Further google research shows these option only available on Sharepoint 2007.

    Levon7, are you sure you saw this on your WSS 3.0 and not on Sharepoint 2007?

    I'm running WSS 3.0 SP1 with Server 2008.

  • According to this blog, http://blogs.msdn.com/joelo/archive/2006/10/03/Shared-Service-Providers-_2800_SSPs_2900_-What-Are-They_2E002E002E00_-How-to_2700_s-On-Delegation.aspx , SSP is not available on WSS. This blog was published October 13, 2006, so I don't know if this aspect has changed.

    The Usage Log Analysis issue was fixed in WSS 3.0 Service Pack 2 (and MOSS2007 Service Pack 2)

    OK I may have missed something htere...
    I am running the WSS 3.0 SP2 on a Server. 
    Logging is enabled (has been for a while so I have plenty of logs).

    I am getting the Usage reports not available for this site. message as others.

    I am looking for where I would find this setting on the Reports, to be able to display the reports.

    It seems that I am not looking in the right spot.  Any thoughts?

  • I have tried the below also

     

    check the log folder and see if sharepoint is creating the logs.  if not, you may need to add permissions to the folder so sharepoint can write logs. (make sure the account under which the usage analysis is running has access to write in that folder)
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\Logs\

    also, if the logs aren't showing up in that folder, you could have an issue with your Timer service.  i'd check to see the timer job status, and the date it was last run (central admin)

    also,
    try the following (make sure you are in the home folder for stsadm, or specify the full path to the executable):
     stsadm -o getproperty -propertyname job-usage-analysis -url http://<yoursite>

    i
    f this returns NO, it means the flag isn't set.  you can set it:
    stsadm -o setproperty -propertyname job-usage-analysis -propertyvalue "daily between 00:00:00 and 00:01:00" -url

     

    it is Yes i mean its enabled only.

  • I have rechecked the settings in the server too with the below url

     


    http://localhost:[CENTRAL ADMIN PORT]/LogUsage.aspx

    its showing that the logging is enabled and able to see the log files too
