External Emails to Distribution lists RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have Exchange 2016 with Hybrid configuration and we don't allow external senders to distribution lists. However we need Service-Now to email to distribution list once ticket updated. Is there anyway we can configure service-now to send emails to Distribution lists while we block external senders from emailing to Distribution lists?

Thanks in advance for your help and time.

Allow external access to those groups.

Create a transport rule that drops any message sent to those groups from external unless from the service-now SMTP address

  • As Andy David said, you should allow all external users send emails to this distribution first:

    Set-DistributionGroup yourGroup -RequireSenderAuthenticationEnabled $false
About transport rule, it cannot work on a distribution group:

You can use such a transport rule for it, however, in this way, all external user will cannot send emails to the members of this group except users from "servernow.com":
