MS Word 2010 Add in loading order

    Question

  • Good afternoon,

I am having an issue with 2 add ins in MS word 2010.  Long story short, part of one add in does not show up in the ribbon unless both loaded in the correct order. however Word seems to load the add ins in alphabetical order, and have not found a way to change it.

so far, i have tried to make a macro that would try to load them in the correct order, but it does not work due to the functions of one of the add ins.

my question is; Is there a way to set the order that MS word loads add ins?

i have searched Google, and have not found anything like this.

  • Hi Alura,

Try workaround this by force the loading order by loading a master Add-In through the Startup folder. That Add-In, as part of its AutoExec procedure loads the others in the order you want.

As this topic might soon turn into a more developing specific topic, in that case, I'd suggest you to step to the Office for Developers forums to continue the discussion: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/officedev
