Outlook search not working RRS feed

  • I have a user who is running Outlook 2007 on an Exchange 2010 Server mailbox backend. He cannot search in his Outlook properly....OWA is fine. His Outlook is set to cached Exchange mode.

    I've read that there is a script to run on a server if this happens with OWA/Exchange online, but what do I do if this happens in cached? Recreate his profile? Or delete the OST and wait for another one to create?

    And if I delete the OST, does a new profile have to be created anyway?

  • I would start with deleting the .OST file. This won't delete the profile, only recreate a new .OST file the next time Outlook is started.

    Search is likely to work afterwards, but not necessarily. I have had cases where I had to delete the Outlook profile and a few times even the Windows profile ...
