“check-in dialog” does not appear RRS feed

  • We are trying to deploy SharePoint based solution on client computers. We are facing host problems. One of which is:

     

    Server configuration is: Windows Server 2003 SP2, Office SharePoint Server 2007. Client configuration is: Windows XP SP2, Office 2003, and SP1. Client and server are in different domains. We use form based authentication. Client’s image is hardened, but we don’t have all details. User can view/edit/save Word documents from SharePoint site. However, “check-in dialog” does not appear. On other computers Word present “Check-in changes” after user saved the changes to the document and tries to close it.

     

    Is that something that was fixed post SP1? Need to know for sure.

    We can’t tell client to blindly upgrade to Office SP2, since many SP2 machines have other problems with SharePoint site.

     

    We have pending ticket with Microsoft support for a while. No help there.

     

    Help is greatly appreciated
