  • Question

  • Dear All,

    Could you please advice how to put alert mail only on working days. I want to send alert mail to user except Saturday and Sunday. For Example if task created on Friday then user need to complete the task in two days so here workflow should escape Saturday and Sunday as weekend then user will get alert mail if not completed the task by Tuesday and alert mail he will get on Wednesday early morning by 6 A.M. (working day will be Monday & Tuesday). Please advice.

  • Hi SP2013Devp,

    As I mentioned in the above reply, you can create a calculated column with the formula as:

    =IF(WEEKDAY([TaskCreatedTime])<4,[TaskCreatedTime]+3,IF(WEEKDAY([TaskCreatedTime])>=4,[TaskCreatedTime]+5))

    Then pause the workflow until this date and send email.

  • Hi SP2013Devp,

    Whether all the tasks need to be completed within two weekdays, and the alert email needs to be send in the third weekdays?

    If that’s the case, for your requirement, you can use calculated column( named as SendEmaildate) to calculate the send email date as the following formula:

    =IF(WEEKDAY([TaskCreatedTime])<4,[TaskCreatedTime]+3,IF(WEEKDAY([TaskCreatedTime])>=4,[TaskCreatedTime]+5))

    Then, in the workflow, use “pause until date” action to pause until sendemaildate, and check if the task status is not equal to completed, if so, send email.

    If you have relevant Due date column, you can use another calculated column to check if the due date is weekday, and set relevant send email date as below:

    =IF(WEEKDAY([Due Date])=1,[Due Date]+1,IF(WEEKDAY([Due Date])=7,[Due Date]+2,[Due Date])

    Then send the workflow same as above to send email.

    Best regards,

    Grace Wang
