Roll back from Skype for business to Lync 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • If you have installed Skype for Business & want to roll this back to Lync 2013 you need to un-install a couple of KB updates.

The updates that need to be un-installed to roll back to the previous version of Lync are KB2889853 & KB2889923 once these have been removed you will go from the new Skype for Business to the old Lync 2013.

  • Thanks for sharing this.  Just rolled back.  That color scheme was killing me.  And I'm usually not one who gets all up in arms about a changed interface.

  • Just to add to this:

If it's just the UI you can also set this through Set-CsClientPolicy.

    Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $false

However, using this method, some things are still Skype branded (i.e the meeting add-in in Outlook will say "New Skype Meeting") but the UI will now be back at Lync 2013.
