Converting MS Project to PDF

  • I have Project 2007 and Adobe Acrobat 7 and pdf add-ons for all other MS apps.  However, can't find a solution for converting Project to pdf.  The snapshot icon in Project does not work as it is too "grainy" to view.  Are there any work-arounds?

  • Hi,

Two methods. First, you can use the "Copy Picture" wizard which is the camera icon on the toolbar. You can then paste the picture into another document such as Word or Power Point.

The more common method is to install a PDF writer on your machine. There are many out there, Adobe Acrobat is the most common. PDF writing software installs iteself to appear as a printer to your computer. It is then a matter of File/Print... which will work from any Windows application.

In addition, if you have Project 2007, then you will need to turn off bars and shapes in gantt views in 3-D. Otherwise, a simple project will come out several megabytes, if at all. I recommend to download a free pdf creator.

    Hope that helps.
