Creating new folders under Tasks in shared folder don't show up in Tasks view pane

    Question

  • Outlook 2010 and 2013 with Exchange 2013 on premise. What we're trying to do is setup a shared company tasks. The Task works fine, but when you add a new folder under Tasks, it does not show up in the Tasks view pane unless its added to favorites. This is a pain since we're creating new Tasks folder for each customer, and it doesn't show up unless you go around to each outlook client and add the new Task folder to favorites. Isn't there a way to make each newly created Tasks subfolder show up automatically in each client since this is a public shared folder?

  • You could write an EWS script that'll add the folder to everyone's favorites, but that won't be an easy task.

  • I know zero about ews scripts and don't want to learn now. So you're saying this can't be done by the average Joe?

  • There's no way I know of to do that natively with existing commands.
