Scenario as described in the title, with Office 2016 and Sharepoint 2013 (on-premises solution only), I'm unable to sign in with the AD account and I'm assuming that's the reason why check-in / saving to on-premises Sharepoint 2013 isn't working. With Office 2013, everything works just fine. Is there new policies or something that can mess things up? Is there a log file somewhere to see what's going on?
The error message shown when trying to sign-in through right hand corner of Office 2016 products: "Sorry, we are having some temporary server issues."
The error message shown when trying to check-in a modified document opened from on-premises Sharepoint 2016 using Office 2016 Word/Excel (for some reason, Powerpoint works fine while doing this?!): "Upload failed. We're sorry this didn't work. Try saving again later and if that still doesn't work, click Save a copy." ...and the resolving through Office upload center doesn't get the issue solved either.
With Office 2013, everything works just fine.
I actually did a another post concerning this (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/92628c2f-94b7-43fd-a8b4-ec9df4caa4a1/does-office-2016-require-internet-access-to-work-correctly-with-onpremises-sharepoint-2013?forum=Office2016ITPro#92628c2f-94b7-43fd-a8b4-ec9df4caa4a1).
I did see this same situation with 2013 on a network that didn't have Internet connection available (which is the case now also) and it could be fixed with own NCSI server like explained on this post about the issue with 2013 http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_integration__sharepoint/archive/2014/03/11/office-2013-can-not-check-in-files-when-lan-does-not-have-internet-access-or-over-some-vpn-39-s.aspx
Valentin: With Office 2013 your users could sign-in to Sharepoint site just fine correct? Do you have Internet connection involved in the scenario?
If this issue isn't about the network connectivity, then it must be something to do with Sharepoint 2013 and correct CU levels...
So my system runs W10 with Office 2016. I didn't had any issue with Office 2013. Right now I am looking for a solution to be able to upload data on SharePoint. Yes, I have internet connection.
I don't know what is exactly the problem. My colleagues are able to use SharePoint and Office without problems. Seems that is a problem on my side and I don't know what is the root cause. I tried different workarounds:
- Cleared Office cache
- Cleared MasterTable file
- Repaired and reinstalled Office 2016
I did tried also some workarounds with support and these didn't worked either.
My final thought is that I have to reinstall everything from 0. Get new permissions and so on...:|
