MOSS & Visual SourceSafe (for doc libraries) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I read that Visual SourceSafe and SharePoint Server can be linked in such a way that authors can check-in, check-out, move, delete etc. files in the VSS through the SharePoint interface:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc768013.aspx

I’ve installed both MOSS & Visual SourceSafe 6.0 (client & server) on the machine, but I’m unable to get them to talk to each other. Can anyone give me more details please?

  • Moving to General.

It's probably a VSS question though as that is the add-in product.

  • That TechNet article applies only to VSS 5.0 and in the wisdom of Microsoft the later versions of VSS don't seem to have the integration capabilities anymore.  I have been searching VSS forums, TechNet and MSDN for days and can find no information regarding the current versions of VSS integrating with SharePoint.
