Can a sharepoint 2010 list be rendered in an iframe without sharepoint header and navigation? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Goal:  Render just the display form of a SharePoint list or library in another page (non-sharepoint page) in an iFrame.

I had a couple of thoughts as to how this might be achieved.  I know that you can strip down a master page to display only the body content.  Would it be possible to put some kind of logic into the master page (or .css) to have the display form detect that it's being displayed in an iframe?  My thinking is that display could be attached to that control to use the same url for both the full page and the page in an iframe with the desired display.

I guess a second option might be to create a page that uses a stripped down master page and put only the list display web part on that page.  Then use that page url for the iFrame.

I'd appreciate any input!  I'll try a few things and post my findings if I get it figured out.
