Virtual Lab - Exchange Server 2010 Setup and Deployment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.

I’m experiencing a problem when accessing one of the TechNet Virtual Labs.

When accessing the “Exchange Server 2010 Setup and Deployment Virtual Lab” (link http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9670799 ), I get the error “There was an error building the VirtualLab environment. Please contact the system administrator”. I’ve been attempting to access this lab for about a week with no success.

Contacted the support by email and they directed me for a supposedly Virtual Labs support page, at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/virtuallabs/ms772425.aspx but there isn't any relation with Virtual Labs on that site, except for the title. Everything there is for the many Microsoft products and services, except Virtual Labs.

    Can anyone help? Thank you.

  • I’m sorry I don’t have specific answers regarding the virtual labs but perhaps this virtual machine will help you tinker:

  • I have a partner license of Exchange Server 2010, and can install it on a testing server we got, so I don't really need a virtual machine. I'll be doing it soon, but before that, I'd like to take this specific lab, as it will train me on how to deploy it the right way. After, I'd deploy it on the testing server, take the other virtual labs and train it back on my server.

The objective is to sharpen the deployment, configs and best practices. Need to do things the most professional way when deploying the solution to our customers.

So what I really need is that lab working, and can't even find where am I supposed to report the error...

    Thank you anyway.

    More suggestions, anyone?

  • Use Virtual PC or Vmware workstation and test your setup , that's a fast and nice way to evaluate things and test your knowledge :)

  • Hi Joel,

It was not your pc problem, the virtual lab failed to load experience by others (me) as well. It's basically provider site (This site hosted for Microsoft by Exsilio Consulting .) problem failed load the lab.

They definitely will fine tune the setting later on.

It's best for you to load another lab and continue with others.

  • Seems like the virtual lab is O.K. now.

  • Hello.

Thank you for pointing that out. That lab is probably a new one, but with about the same content. I wouldn't notice it, because I was checking on the initial lab link (on my first post), and that one still report the same problem. Seems Microsoft fixed the issue by creating a new lab and removing the links for the broken lab.

    Problem solved. :)
