SharePoint Foundation 2013 with 2016/2019 Domain Controllers? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everybody,

we are planning a server migration and the customer wants to keep his SharePoint Foundation 2013 Server. Which are the highest versions of Windows Server and forest/domain functional levels supported by SharePoint 2013? That is, may we use 2019 DCs and functional levels?

  • We can confirm that SharePoint On-Premise version 2010 and 2013 are compatible with Active Directory On-Premise version 2016

Is there any official Microsoft documentation about the supported domain controller versions for each SharePoint on premises version?
    Thank you.

    Bye.

  • Hello Allen,

fine, thanks! We will stay with AD DCs 2016 at customer sites which still use SharePoint 2013 so - no problem.

Where did you get this information? The only requirement is 2003 Native mode. There is no end limit. In fact, because there are no changes in AD DS in Windows Server 2019 from 2016, the statement cannot be true.
