Answers

  • Hi,

Could you please try to connect to another SharePoint site to see whether the same issue occurs?

If the same issue occurs, please check if you install different office versions. If that is the case, please make sure the office versions are the same.

If the same issue doesn’t occur, please follow the steps below:

    1. Open SharePoint Designer 2013, access Account tab and click Switch Account.

    2. Type in the credentials of the site you are trying to open.

    3. 4. If issue persists, please try adding the site to your trusted sites.

    Thanks,

    Dean Wang

  • It's one of two things:

    a) You are using an account that does not have the needed credentials to access the site or

    b) you need to clear out your SPD cache.

To check the account credentials , in SPD click File->Account which will show the account you are trying to use to access the site.  If that account does not have Designer privs to the site you will get the version error.

If that does not correct then go to this site and clear your cache: https://benprins.wordpress.com/2013/09/03/sharepoint-designer-clearing-the-cache/
