Outlook Search Not Working RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are on Version 1811 (Build 11029.20108) and the Search function in Outlook no longer works. Is there a fix coming out soon for this? Search function was working prior to update. Search works on local machine Windows 10 running the same version of Outlook, however, on Terminal Server running Server 2016, the search function does not work.

  • Hi,

What's the Windows OS version you are currently running? This issue may occur after installing the following Windows Update:

    KB 4467684: November 27, 2018—KB4467684 (OS Build 14393.2639)

Microsoft is aware of and investigating the issue. As a workaround, you can open your Windows command prompt, type sfc /scannow, press Enter and restart Outlook to alleviate the symptoms.

See "Outlook cannot perform the search" error in Outlook clients on Windows Server 2016 for more details.

You can also keep an eye on the above article, the article will be updated with the most current status of the issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Steve Fan
