Type of column for Secondary Index RRS feed

  • Question

  • I went to create compound Index.

Content Type + Case Type (a single line of text and single indexed)

I pick content type from primary and I dont see Case Type in the secondary. I see only hand full of secondary columns.

I am sure there are certain types of columns available for secondary index but what are those types?

My list views are way slow and I am trying to speed up thing a bit. List has about 40k records.

  • http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff798465.aspx this article talks about Indexing and has a Notes which states Column Type

Not all column data types can be indexed. For a list of column types that can be indexed, see Enforcing Uniqueness in Column Values on MSDN. Also note that you cannot include text fields in a composite index.

hmm. "Case Type" is "Single line of text" and therefore Can't be composite index.
