Sharepoint 2010 how to do a rootwebonly webtemplate RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

I want to do a rootwebonly webtemplate. Not a site template a rootonly webtemplate so in my onet.xml in my configuration tag I added an attribute RootWebOnly =True; As it said in Ms documentation I didnt deploy my webtemplate in a solution file. I did it manually. But I can still see the option to create sub site from my webtemplate.

Has someone ever succeed to do it or not?

    Thanks

  • A different angle: you can delete the security permission "create subsites".

That way, no one can create a subsite.

  • Yer but nobody would not be able to create any subsite. I just do not want people to create sub site from my webtemplate.

  • You need to put the RootWebOnly="True" into the configuration tag in Webtemp*.xml file, instead of the Onet.xml
