moving web hosting and backing up imap emails

  • Hi,

I am moving a website from it's current hosting to a different one and one issue i can see before i do it is that the email accounts attached to the domain are set up as imap accounts and therefore as soon as i transfer the domain and hosting (and ultimately change the mail server), they will lose all their emails and start from zero.

I just wondered what the best way to go about this would be?

I assume either; some way of archiving them,

turning the account to pop and allowing them all to download and changing it back to imap on the new hosting (not sure if that would work like that??)

or dropping them into a folder in outlook outside of the email account in question to save them locally (not sure if it works like this either?) would be my options? if so, which would you recommend?

    Many thanks,

  • Use the Get-MailboxRegionalConfiguration cmdlet to retrieve regional settings such as time zone, time format, date, and language settings for a specified mailbox.

    Get-MailboxRegionalConfiguration -Identity tony

    Get-MailboxRegionalConfiguration -Identity tony -DomainController "DC1"
