Outlook 2010 changed account settings RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been using Outlook 2010 with Windows 7 Home Premium for about 2 months.  All of the sudden one day it crashed.  Had to remove the add ons, but it only allows me to reteive email from one POP account.  I had four POP accounts and one hotmail account going all to the same inbox.  I decided to go through the motions and reinstall the old accounts.

Now Outlook has set up new data files for each account on the left and will not retreive any of these accounts.  I have taken one of the accounts I have added and decided to make it a default account, but Outlook said the account does not exsist.

I don't get it.  Everything was working fine and then started acting up.

  • On the screen for Account Settings that lists all your e-mail accounts, on the bottom it shows which folder the e-mail should be delivered to as well as which file.  you will need to click on each one and assign it to your "default" otherwise it does create a new file for each one.
