Migration from OCS 2007R2 to Lync 2013 with Lync 2010 installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a customer with a productive OCS 2007R2 environment. Customer is heavily using OCS 2007R2 Response Groups.
The also installed a Lync 2010 Standard Edition Server and a Lync 2010 Mediation Server but are just using the Lync 2010 with some pilot users. Now we are planning to move to Lync 2013. As far as I know it is not supported to install three different OCS/Lync versions in a Toplogy.
As we want minimal impact on the productive environment it would be best to remove the pilot Lync 2010 from the environment and then after that install Lync 2013 and do the migration from OCS 2007R2 to Lync 2013 (which is supported I guess).

I am not sure if this might cause problems (schema extensions for Lync 2010 cannot be removed as i know...). Moving from OCS 2007R2 to Lync 2010 and then migration from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013 will have much more impact on the whole environment...
