Printer not activated, error code -20

Question
-
Windows 7 x64, Office 2010 all with latest patches. Printer is networked OKI C3200n, and is set as the default printer. When the user goes to print from Word, he gets the above error. Any other program prints fine. All I can find via Google is set it as default, but it already is. Quickbooks not installed, or anything from Ayumi, either. This high ranking employee is seemingly married to this printer.Thursday, February 9, 2012 5:39 PM

The user finally got back to me and claims everything is ok, and he did nothing. I am pretty sure he finally set the printer as the default, which I asked him to do initially. He probably rejected that, thinking it was too simple at first. I suspect now he finally tried it, and is too embarrassed to admit what worked.
End Users.

Hi,
Can the user print from the other Office application? e.g. Excel?
Can the user print from the Microsoft XPS Document Writer when using Word?
Try to run Word as administrator and try to print again. To do so, hold Shift key and right click on the Word icon and select Run as administrator.
Try to run Word in safe mode to determine if it could be 3rd-party add-in related.
Sincerely,Max Meng

Well, the user can print from other Office programs, and anything else. It's just Word that has this problem.
I asked the user if he was getting updates for Windows and Other Products From Microsoft Update setup. He did not. I talked him through it, and that's the last I've heard from him yet. That was Friday morning. He is traveling, so it's hard to get him pinned down. I will update when I hear from him.

This error signifies a more complex problem with the previous installations of the MapInfo Professional and Confirm PDF printers. One cause of the error is that the MapInfo Professional PDF printer and the Confirm PDF printer are installed on the same systemFriday, June 12, 2020 12:23 PM
