Pool Pairing - Same Site or Not RRS feed

  • Question

  • Doing a build out of a simple Lync 2013 Std Edition server and the customer wants to have it paired with another Std Edition server in their DR location. What is the recommended design in terms of Lync Sites? One or two? I was planning on just one site. Is there any real technical reason to have 2 sites from a pairing perspective?

    Thanks.

Answers

  • as it is a DR location it is really preferred to have a different site ( DR site). however technically you can have both server in same site.

    Supported pool pairing scenario

    Standard edition pool --> Standard edition pool
    Enterprise edition pool --> Enterprise edition pool
    Physical pool --> Physical pool
    Virtual pool --> Virtual pool

  • ok, thanks. The two sites are connected via such high-speed links, it's practically the same data center. I think we'll be good.
