In place upgrade from MOSS 2007 to SP2010 fails. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a test enviroment with MOSS 2007 running on Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2 on a virtual machine. On trying to upgrade to SP2010 I get a errors on the last stage of the upgrade.

The specific error in the log files is :

Account spservice@server.sp2010.com does not appear to have a valid password. After upgrade completes, run stsadm -o updateaccountpassword for this account. Failure to do so may cause your farm to malfunction.

I tried to redo the upgrade and run the stsadm -o updateaccountpassword and specified a strong password, befroe running the setup for SP2010, but does not make any difference. The MOSS 2007 installation has SP2 for both MOSS and WSS 3.0 installed.

    Any advice is appreciated.

  • Hi Kenneth,

Could you please give a retry after restarting MOSS services and IIS Reset.

    Thanks & Regards,
