How to Send from Exchange 2016 account and From POP3/SMTP Account in Outlook Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a Exchange 2016 on premise server, and have successfully deployed with clients connected.  Some clients (using Outlook 2007), wish use Exchange as well as add in and connect to a external POP3/SMTP account.  We have successfully added in the account details and can Receive the emails fine in the separate PST file for the POP3/SMTP account.

However, we are having problems sending from the POP3/SMTP account.  When we send the message, the FROM address is always our Exchange 2016 address, even though we specified the account in which the email should be sent FROM.

  • Hi,

Do you mean you have two accounts in the same Outlook profile?

You can create a new Outlook profile and add these two accounts again. Additionally, you can try to use Outlook 2016. As can be seen in the following table, Outlook 2007 is not supported for Exchange 2016:

Please make sure you have click "From", and choose the correct address before sending emails:

  • To confirm that the Exchange mailbox connectivity between Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2016 is working fine.

Yes, we have both accounts (exchange account and POP3 account) set-up under the same profile, as the user does not want to keep logging out one profile to check email in the other profile.

We have selected the "From" address before sending. Also, we are finding that when the email (POP3 account) is Sent the message goes in the Exchange Outbox.

Are you saying if we moved to Outlook 2016, that we could have both accounts set-up under the same profile?
