background image for sharepoint 2010

  • folks,

I tried to change the background image for body{} or bodyv4.master{} or s4-workspace{} in corev4.css by adding a background-image:url('/_layouts/images/big.jpg') no-repeat; but this doesn't show the entire background image. It truncates the background image at the end of hte page. If I add more data, it scroll's down but the background image is not fixed. IT MOVES DOWN WITH THE PAGE. I did not add any div's or html code yet to the page. I tried setting background-attachment:fixed/scroll; but doesn't help. How do I make sure the background image occupies the entire page and overflows with scroll if it is greater in height.

  • Hi

     try for

    CSS Class/ID = “body #s4-bodyContainer”

    to set min-heigh value

  • You might want to try some full page background stretching techniques.

I've just tested applying a background image to the #s4-workspace { background-image: url('/myimage'); } and without doing anything the background image stayed locked into place.

  • I have added it to the body and it seems to be okay
