Sharepoint Meeting Workspace discontinued!


  • We widely use the Sharepoint Meeting Workspace Feature to organise and document several different meeting in our organisation.

    Using Outlook 2013 I had to discover, that this very usefull item of sharepoint is missing and has been replaced by nothing!

    Is there any workaround to use "old" sharepoint 2010 workspaces wehen using office 2013?

    I personally think this was one of the most effective parts of sharepoint!!!!

    It's supported to use the SharePoint Workspace 2010 with Office 2013 suite. You may install the SharePoint Workspace 2010 product only from Office 2010 suite:

    sharepoint workspace can be installed, thats correct. But the meeting workspace feature is lost. It is not possible any more to add a new meeting date to an existing meeting workspace in sharepoint. At least i am to stupid to find any way to do so in outlook or on sharepoint.

    MS wants to stop that feature in future - needs to rethink the strategy of revolving group meetings!

  • This link is a year old and I do not see an acceptable fix.  This is a heavily used feature in 2010 so where is the replacement for 2013??

  • Hi,You're joking me! THis is the most heavily tool for meetings used in my organization. You can not just remove feature and say 'The feature was not widely used'. Nobody asked us. Hey we need this!. NOw I have to create my own button for Outlook and create my own template for meetings. You can not just remove feeature and say 'Sorry for removed feature'

  • This works fine, if you use Office / Outlook 2010 - Using Outlook 2013 there is no more Option to add a single Meeting date to the Meeting Workspace.

    Let's hope MS wakes up.

  • Wow, I cannot believe this feature has been removed because it's "not a widely used feature".  Maybe if Microsoft didn't hide it, more people would use it but I'm also not buying that it isn't getting used.  Please bring this feature back!
