  • Office Access and the Registry

    Hello,

I have two questions for this post I am trying to get answers to.

I need to find a way of identifying if Access has been installed by finding the uninstall guid in the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

I have found a guid that exists and a display name for Office Access 2010 but this key appears whether the Access feature is enabled on the machine or not (I install by default with just Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). There doesn’t appear to be a key that resembles whether the access product is actually really installed.

My second question is, is there a way of using the config.xml file to put my own registry key into the registry? The only thing I can think of using is the Command Path element of the xml file, but I have no idea if it’s even possible to use this in this way, all I can tell so far is that it will install an MSI product such as an Addin.

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks

    Steve
