How to configure Share point 2010 search only for a single sharepoint list (Not full site)? RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I have to configure a sharepoint 2010 search to only one sharepoint list. By default it searches the content from the full site.
But i want to search from only one list. Is this option is possible in SP2010? If possible, How I configure search for a single list only?.

     Experts please help me..

    Thanks and Regards, BalaMurugan J

Answers

  • Probably by creating a search scope that points to a list url

  • I agree with Serge, probably a scope would be best, however if you know that you won't need any search results from anywhere else you could add a content source with a start location of the list which would completely limit the search.
