Export To Excel problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I'm completely new to Sharepoint.

I get an error whenever I try to export a huge report to excel. I can export this report without any problems on the development environment but on the pre-production I'm getting an error. The configuration parameters and limitations are the same on both environments. I think the problem is related to a Timeout Limit because the same report with less data is exported easily with no errors...

Does anyone have any idea about this kind of thing? I really appreciate any help.

  • Hello,

What is the error? Please provide full details of that error. If you are suspect that problem with time out then try to increase time and try.

  • Hello,

what report? Can you please provide some more detail? Is it a list view? A library view? Or one of the pre-configured SharePoint reports?

  • Hi,

Can you please check ULS log error and share to us. I think there should be some best practices to have the items in SP List. If it is more, then it may throw an error. Check SP 2010 Best practices for list items.

  • Thank for the reply.

I've already tried to set the execution Timeout to 999999 but it didn't work.

    The error message is:

« Application error when access /PolePerformance/Reserved.ReportViewerWebPart.axd, Error=Timeout exceeded demand. »

I cannot understand, why it's working perfectly on the development environment and not on the preproduction? Knowing that both environments have the same configuration parameters, timeouts, limitations, version, etc.
