Conversion of regular mailbox to shared mailbox failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

Two weeks back we have upgraded our exchange environment from Cu15 to CU22 (Exchange 2013).

Now we found that we are unable  to convert   a regular mailbox to shared mailbox. The powershell command failed with below error

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Set-Mailbox -Identity rocdsds -Type shared
    Error on proxy command 'Set-Mailbox -Identity:'roc' -Type:'Shared' -Confirm:$False -Force:$True' to server
SRVINFMBX02.domain: Server version 15.00.1473.0000, Proxy method RPS:

the operation. Verify that the specified computer name is valid, that the computer is accessible over the network, and
that a firewall exception for the WinRM service is enabled and allows access from this computer. By default, the WinRM
firewall exception for public profiles limits access to remote computers within the same local subnet. For more
information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic..

We request your kind advice in this regard.

  • Hi David,

Thanks a lot for the response.

We don't have multi AD domains.

Ok, try this. Logon to the server where the database of that mailbox is mounted and run the Powershell command there.

    Ashraf

I have seen this before with 2013 and before CU22.

The only difference I am ware of is that CU21 and above support creating remote mailboxes as shared but I dont think thats related.
