    set __COMPAT_LAYER=RUNASINVOKER

    "c:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Bin\Exchange Management Console.msc"

  • Hi Tim,

Why did you mention "since Win10 1903"? Did you try to install EMC in a Windows 10 client and get the "EMC crashing" issue there? If so, how about opening the user mailbox in Exchange server?

Besides, could you run get-mailbox command to check the mailbox properties from EMS?

I noticed that your some words in your error message is not English, please make sure that the server language and Exchange package language are the same. Another community member has resolved a similar issue via the following steps:

I resolve this problem, so it could help somebody.

Install Multi Language Pack for Windows 2008 R2 SP1 (warning: it is different between SP1 and without). Download here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2634
    Switch language to english
    Restart

If it doesn't help, please try to reproduce the issue and send the IIS log files on that day to ibsexc@microsoft.com.

  • Hi Manu,

thanks for the reply. Yes the error occurs only on a Win10 Client which has the EMC Console installed. Even reinstalling the Package did not help. On the Exchange itself (Win 2008 R2 ) everything works as before. I mentioned the 1903 Update because since then, it stopped working on all our Win10 Admin machines (with 1903). Usually everything is installed in german here, but ill double check if there are language differences now.

  • Im having the exact same issue since installed Update 1903. The exchange management console allows me to edit properties of distribution lists, but not mailboxes and crashes when trying to view a mailbox.

Language packs are all installed, using english.

Maybe that is the answer for this, we need to install it on Windows 8, Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Vista SP2.

  • No.  The Exchange 2010 Management Tools is not supported on Windows 10.  Never has been.
