Cross-Forest Migration and SSL Certificates RRS feed

  • Question

  • About to do a cross-forest migration from a resource forest back into the regular user forest. If we add another namespace to the current SSL certificate, can we just use the same certificate in the new Exchange environment? Didn't know if there would be some issue having the same Thumbprint across Forests or anything. I assume that both Forests will need a unique namespace, such as owa and webmail.

Also, how do we setup Autodiscover for this scenario?

  • Hi Vegas,

Did you mean that you have installed Exchange server on user forest as a new Exchange environment?

If so, you can use the same certificate within the new forest's namespace in the new Exchange environment, because the certificate is only used to verify the identity.

    Best Regards,
