Federation between Lync 2010 and OCS 2007R2 -> presence when search a user RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey all,

I want to create a federation between Lync 2010 and OCS 2007 R2. The question is....when a Lync User is searching a user from the federated OCS 2007 R2 Server can he see the presence of the user during the search? And if so true is there any policy on OCS 2007 or Lync to disable this?

The partner wants to share the presence of the user only after adding the partner user to the buddy list.

Thanks in advance & best regards

  • Here is a good explanation how presence in federation works

If you add the one user, the user will be informed that you have added him. He can accept this request or block your request. If he block this request, you see the contact buddy allways offline.

If Lync/OCS privacy used, it is also for users on your own pool.

  • Hi,

Agree with Holger, you would add the federated partner in to blocked list which will block the presence subscription.
