How to unlock UML shapes?

    Question

  • Hi,

    I can't seem to find a way to unlock UML shapes in Visio 2010. In a composition, for example, I used to be able to move the multiplicity text boxes around (Visio 2007 and earlier versions), although I had to go through contextual menus (something like Format > Protection...).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Paolo

  • Hi,

    Select the shape you wish to ungroup, then from the menu
    Window -> Show Shapesheet
    in section Protection, set cell "Lock Group" to 0

  • I am having the same issue in Visio 2010:  inability to move the multiplicity boxes.  I tried the suggested solution, both on the shape and on the text box, but I still cannot move the text.  Is there something else I'm missing?

    It used to be, in 2003, that I didn't have to do anything special other than use the text box tool, so this is pretty frustrating.

    Thanks,
    Michael

  • The suggested solution does not work for me either. I've unlocked everything in the Protection section of the shapesheet and I still can't move the multiplicity boxes on a UML composition.

    Thanks
